I never planned to become a hypnotherapist. Like many people, I thought hypnosis was something you saw in movies - not a legitimate healing practice. But life has a way of leading us exactly where we need to be.
My path to hypnotherapy began with my own healing journey. Growing up, I experienced significant trauma and instability that left me (and those closest to me) struggling with depression, anxiety, and feeling constantly in crisis mode. For years, I searched for answers through personal development work, which helped tremendously, but I knew there was still more healing to do.
The moment everything changed happened during a hypnotherapy session with a personal growth coach...
...I had a particular trigger - seeing bent forks - that would instantly transport me back to a traumatic childhood memory and leave me feeling like a scared little girl inside. Through what I later learned was hypnotherapy, she helped me transform that trigger completely. Now, bent forks are just bent forks, and that painful memory is simply a notation on my timeline of history.
That transformation was so profound that I knew I had to learn how to do this for others. I'd spent my life helping people from difficult backgrounds - working with at-risk youth, serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), starting mentoring programs for young women, and creating internship programs for kids who needed a better path forward.
But hypnotherapy showed me how to help people heal at the deepest level, quickly and effectively. After four years of practice, I'm continually amazed by how rapidly I can help people transform from anxious, scared, and playing small to feeling empowered, confident, hopeful, and truly enjoying life again.
The ripple effects of healing are extraordinary. When someone overcomes depression, they don't just feel less sad - they start showing up differently in every area of life. They gain the confidence to pursue career opportunities they never thought possible. They develop the clarity to make better decisions about relationships, naturally gravitating toward people who uplift and support them while setting boundaries with those who don't.
When anxiety no longer controls someone's choices, they begin making plans for the future with genuine hope instead of fear. They speak up in meetings, take on leadership roles, and pursue dreams they'd shelved for years. Their increased focus and mental clarity often lead to career advances, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of self-worth.
Healing trauma creates even more profound shifts. People discover they can trust their own judgment again. They feel worthy of love and success. They stop accepting less than they deserve in relationships and careers. Many clients tell me they finally understand what it means to truly like themselves - not just tolerate, but genuinely appreciate who they are.
This work is personal for me. I understand what it feels like to carry trauma, to struggle with depression, to feel like you're constantly fighting just to get through the day. I also know what it feels like to heal, to transform those experiences into sources of strength, and to help others do the same.

Note: I am not a licensed physician, but rather a board-certified hypnotherapist (see some of my credentials above). Sessions are complementary to healing arts licensed by the state, using hypnosis based on Ericksonian & Classical Hypnosis, integrating elements of solution-focused hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioral hypnotherapy, Parts Therapy, neuroscience-informed. My approach is a modern, solution-focused integrative, and client-centered.
Traditional therapy helped me understand my problems, but hypnotherapy helped me actually solve them. That's the difference I bring to my practice - understanding isn't enough. You need tools that create real, lasting change.
I specialize in helping people who feel stuck, anxious, depressed, or trapped by patterns they can't seem to break. My approach combines the latest research in neuroscience with time-tested hypnotherapy techniques.
What makes my practice different:
Focus on rapid, lasting results rather than endless sessions
Combination of clinical expertise with genuine compassion
Personalized approach tailored to each client's unique situation
Emphasis on teaching self-hypnosis for ongoing empowerment

I have wasted several thousands dollars going to psychics to try to find a solution to cure my depression and anxiety. But now with only three sessions of hypnotherapy with Jennifer, I have seen immediate results. She has helped me connect and heal some parts of myself that I did not know they existed. I now feel less depressed, and anxious. In one of the hypnotherapist sessions, we work with my inner child. I take life too seriously. I get angry about everything. Now, after only three sessions with Jennifer, I am now less reactive to my environment. Now, I have trouble getting angry.
Also,... I am more playful now!
Yesterday....previously I would have gotten angry, and that anger probably would have stayed with me for a couple of days. This time, it didn’t bother me. I didn’t get angry. I can probably keep writing about how Jennifer has helped me with hypnosis, but I don’t have enough space…
Margaret:
Results I've noticed... That deep dark heavy weight in my chest and abdomen is gone, depression is lifted... Thank you for helping me reach this spot.
Lotus:
I tried different therapists, psychologists, other hypnotherapists, AEDP, Focusing, Mindfulness, and self-talk to my inner child... but nothing worked to get rid of the traumatic images that haunted me.
After having only ONE hypnotherapy session with Jennifer, she helped me realize the reasons behind my 40+ year emotional disturbance - the loneliness, sadness, self-doubt, and self-hatred.
With Jennifer's patient and professional guidance, I felt safe and was able to touch my unconscious feelings. It was like clearing all the dark clouds that covered the beautiful, sparkling stars in the sky. Now I can see myself clearly and shine in the darkness.
I'm so grateful for Jennifer's deeply understanding, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach.
Michelle:
I certainly wasn't expecting the (first) session to be so powerful and to get right to the cause of the issue, I'm sure there are any more 😅This was really an amazing experience and I appreciate your expertise and kind, positive spirit...
San Diego is more than just where I work - it's my home. I understand both the beauty of living in San Diego, and the unique stresses of living here: the high cost of housing, the pressure to maintain that "perfect California lifestyle," the anxiety around natural disasters like wildfires and earthquakes.
I've helped clients from every corner of our county:
Downtown professionals dealing with work stress
Beach community residents managing seasonal depression
East County families facing economic pressures
North County commuters handling daily stress
(and formerly, clients in Temecula, CA).

In-person: Great for those who prefer face-to-face connection
Virtual: Perfect for busy schedules, mobility issues, or comfort preferences

I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and grow. Sometimes we just need someone to help us access that inner wisdom and strength. Hypnotherapy isn't about me "fixing" you - it's about me guiding you to tap into your own powerful healing abilities.
My core beliefs:
Healing happens when we address root causes, not just symptoms
The subconscious mind holds incredible wisdom and healing power
Small changes in the right direction can create massive life improvements
Everyone deserves to feel mentally and emotionally well
Therapy should empower you, not create dependency
When I'm not helping clients, you can find me creating ocean-themed resin art sculptures, training in martial arts (Muay Thai Boxing and Krav Maga), or exploring San Diego's incredible hiking trails with my puppy-dog.
I'm passionate about languages and also speak Italian, Russian, Spanish, French, and some Ukrainian, which reflects my love for connecting with people from different cultures.
Living in San Diego gives me daily inspiration - the sunshine, ocean, diverse communities, and the beautiful mix of cultures and backgrounds that make our city so special. I love discovering new coffee shops, taking my dog to the beach, and traveling internationally when possible.
I believe in practicing what I teach, maintaining my own mental and emotional well-being through regular exercise, meditation, self-hypnosis, and meaningful connections with others. These practices keep me grounded and effective in helping my clients.
